Mission 2: Severnaya
Part ii: Bunker

PRIMARY OBJECTIVES:
- Disrupt all surveillance equipment
- Copy Goldeneye key and leave original
- Get Personnel to activate computer
- Download data from computer
- Photograph main video screen
|
BACKGROUND: A spy satellite has
detected increased levels of activity at an old observatory complex
near Severnaya (62.08n, 102.58e) in Russia.
Other sources have confirmed the shipment of
a large amount of computer hardware to that location, and an influx
of skilled personnel.
M BRIEFING: I want you to infiltrate this
base and find out what the devil's going on there. The satellite photograph
reveals that there has been recent underground excavation. We'd like
to know the exact nature and planned extent of the workings.
Q BRANCH: You'll be doing some computer
hacking on this mission, 007. I know you'd rather be cracking open a
bottle of bubbly that cracking passwords, so I've taken the liberty
of putting together a little gadget which will do the hard work for
you. If you attach the data thief to their mainframe it should override
any computer security measures and download any information we require.

After starting, open the door ahead of you.
There is a guard straight ahead to kill. Then a guard waiting on
the left, who will look around for a second, then hit the alarm.
Eliminate him before he has the chance. Knock out the camera visible
through the door by the alarm.

|
Head back to where you started, and through
the other door. Around the corner is another security camera. If
you hit a camera directly in the lens it only takes one shot. Be
sure to destroy it quickly though, after a few sweeps of the room,
the alarm will be sounded if the camera is not destroyed.

|
|
|
Right beside that camera, you can look through
the door, and see a guards arm. Give him a couple hits in the arm
to kill him. Another guard may rush to the door. Get rid of him
too. Step out into the hall, to be sure there are no other nearby
guards, then head left.
|
|
|
|
Just visible around the corner is another
camera. After that, use the zoom lens on the KF7 Soviet to knock
off this guard at the end. You don't need to head down there.
|
|
|
|
Head back, and through the first doors on
the left. You should have killed the patrolling guard with the key
to open this room. If not, look for him. You can shoot these guards
through the glass. Be careful not to hit the computer mainframes
though. A guard may not be killed though the glass... He'll open
the door so you can finish him off.

|
|
Proceed further down the hall, as you come
to these stairs. Aim down, and take out the guard. Wait a bit, and
two more should appear. Head down the stairs, and look over the
railing to the right to pick off this guy.

|
|
Aim up on the inside of the railing to get
these guys. They won't fire over the railing to get you though.
You can shoot at them, but they run all the way around to shoot
you. Finish them before they make it. Across the room is another
guard to kill. Right behind him, (above him in this shot) is the
final camera to destroy.

|
|
Select the camera from your inventory, and
press "Z" to take a picture of the main screen. Next, find the Goldeneye
key on a table opposite the screen.
|
|
|
|
Select the Key Analyzer from the inventory,
and press "Z" to use it. Once finished, press "Z" to throw away
the key. Next, find Boris and hold him at gunpoint, and he'll then
lead you back to the computer room. Just follow him, and have your
Datathief ready.

|
|
Once he activates the computer, use "Z" to
use the Datathief and download. You can leave at this point. Run
as fast as you can through the main control room, as these endless
guards will pour in. Shoot only the ones in your way, and run through
there.
|
|
|
|
At the end of that hall are two soldiers,
easily disposed of. You don't even need to kill them, just hit them
so they'll stop firing for a second. The door to exit the level
is right behind them. Exit through there to complete the mission.
