Silo Walkthru by Hutz
PRIMARY OBJECTIVES:
- Plant bombs in fuel rooms
- Photograph satellite
- Obtain telemetric data
- Retrieve satellite circuitry
- Minimize scientist casualties
BACKGROUND:
MI6 has become concerned that unscheduled test firings
from a missile silo in Kirghizstan are being used to cover the launch of
Goldeneye weapons satellites.
Deep intelligence reports suggest that this operation may well be outside
the control of the former Soviet powers in the region.
M BRIEFING:
Infiltrate the silo and ascertain what is being placed into
orbit; if it is the satellites, recover their control circuitry and sabotage the
launches. You are authorized to destroy the base if necessary.
This is a matter of international security, 007. Consider the military
personnel expendable.
Q BRANCH:
The layout of the missile silo means that a few carefully
placed explosive charges will destroy the entire complex - concentrate
on the fuel rooms (H4, C3, K2 and A1). 007, remember to treat the timed
explosives with respect - you remember what happened to 004 in Beirut.
Oh, and get me a picture of the satellite, there's a good chap.
From your starting point, head left and carefully open the door.
Take out the guard on your right, then one on the stairs and any more that join in. Peek
around the next corner and eliminate the remaining guards.

Through
the next door is the first fuel room. Eliminate any guards in here,
spare the scientists, and head to the far left corner. To get past
each fuel room, you'll need a scientist's keycard. So when in a
fuel room, hold a scientist at gunpoint and snatch it from him.
Grab the two green circuit boards from the table in the corner,
then press Start, switch to your Plastique and plant one on the
wall. Keep in mind that while you get eight of them, you'll only
need four.

Go up the stairs and open the door carefully, taking out any guards.
At the fork, peek both ways quickly and carefully, dispatching anyone you see. Head right
and through the door. Open the next door carefully, peeking in and eliminating all the visible
guards.

To be
safe, take out your KF7 and blow up the barrels ahead of you to
easily take out the guards there. After the smoke clears, peek around
the corner and clear a path to the next door.
|
The next
fuel room contains two guards and a scientist. Eliminate the guards
and get the scientist's keycard. Grab the circuit board that's to
the right of the entrance and plant a Plastique on the wall in the
same place as you did in the previous fuel room, then head onward
up the stairs.

Open the
door carefully and pick off the guards, then go forward and turn
left, killing the guard that's ducking behind the crate. Go through
the door and dispatch the lone guard now before he gives you a nasty
surprise from behind later. Turn around and head onward through
the opposite door.

Open the door carefully and take out the two guards on the catwalk.
Open the next door carefully and quickly dispatch the few guards before they get a
chance to react. Peek around the next corner and eliminate the guards, then enter the
next fuel room.

After taking
down the guards in this room, take a hard right and grab this scientist's
DAT. Objective C Completed. Turn around and find the scientist
with the keycard. Once it's found, grab the remaining circuit board
in this room. Objective D Completed. Finally, plant another
plastique on the wall. Once that's done, head up the stairs.

As always, open the door and pick off the guards carefully. With
the KF7, never fire more than two or three shots in succession for
many guards will hear you. There will be more than a few guards
here, so be somewhat patient. When clear, head left and grab the
half-plate of body armor you're probably starving for.

Turn around and go forward. Behind the next door is two guards,
so take them out with single KF7 shots. The next part gets tricky. Open the door and,
with a single head shot, kill the first guard that the door reveals while closing the door again.
Repeat this for the remaining guards. Peek around the next corner and eliminate everybody,
then it's on to the last fuel room.

Before
entering, switch to your camera, then open the door and snap a picture
of the satellite in front of you. Objective B Completed.
Arm yourself again to kill the guards in this room, then plant the
final plastique on the wall. Objective A Completed. Now head
up the stairs. Open the door carefully, and once you're seen, fall
back to avoid being pummeled by gunfire. Take out the guards that
rush in, then peek in when Ourumov stops shooting to kill any remaining
guards.

When you hear a break in Ourmov's shots, rush him, and when
you get close he'll scamper away. Don't waste shots on him. Poke back and forth into
the fork, then take out the guards that see you. Turn left, and behind the second door
will be a few guards. Kill them quickly, with rapid KF7 shots, then turn left and destroy
the computers. The resulting explosion will take care of the rest of the guards.

At the next fork, take a right and step into the elevator. With a minute
or two to spare, you've finished the mission.
